Be practical – Your bedroom will need to be well organised for you to find what you need whilst rushing in the morning, yet in the evening it will be a place to unwind and relax. Good, convenient, accessible and organised storage is a must!!!
Opt for good lighting – Good and ambiant lighting will really make the difference to your new bedroom. Good lighting is especially essential in a smaller room, or a room without much natural light. If your room is smaller it is worth considering brighter or neutral colours, to create an illusion of space. Mirrored or high-gloss doors will reflect the light, creating a more spacious feel. You may choose lighting inset into your furniture, under bridge units, wall lighting, feature lighting, or spot lighting in the ceiling.
Beds / Bed frames – It is worth considering that your bed will likely cover the majority of the floor space in your bedroom. It is therefore worthwhile considering the advantages of a bed frame for extra storage. A bespoke bed frame, with units and drawers, or even a lift up box bed frame, with the mattress on top is an excellent way of storing away less frequently used items. .
Televisions / Multi-media – Having a wall mounted television so you can lay in bed and watch your favourite programme may be a must. You may want to close away the television however, bespoke fitted furniture can be designed to built store it away into a matching bedroom unit.
Use all your vertical and horizontal space – You will find that non-standard or free-standing furniture will make your room feel smaller, but additionally will waste valuble storage space.
